Clock Screensaver FAQ

Answers to common questions about compatibility, TV casting, fullscreen mode, privacy, and using the online flip clock on any screen.

What is a clock screensaver and how do I use it?+

A clock screensaver is a full-screen digital clock that runs in your browser. Open clockscreensaver.org, click Start fullscreen screensaver and the clock takes over the display. Press Esc to exit.

Is this really a free online clock screensaver?+

Yes. There is no signup, no download and no watermark. The site is 100% free to use on any device with a modern browser.

Does the free online clock screensaver work offline?+

Once the page has loaded, the clock keeps ticking without an internet connection because it reads your device's system time locally.

Which devices are supported?+

Any device with a modern browser: Windows and Mac desktops, iPad, iPhone, Android phones and tablets, Chromebooks and most smart TVs. The layout is fully responsive so the clock looks great on all screen sizes.

Can I use a 24-hour clock format?+

The clock renders in 24-hour format by default when your system uses 24-hour time. A manual 12/24-hour toggle is on the roadmap.

How do I keep the screen from turning off?+

Disable sleep in your operating system's power settings while the clock screensaver is running. On phones, you can pin the browser or enable a 'Keep screen on' developer option.

Can I cast the clock screensaver to my TV?+

Yes. Use Chromecast's 'Cast tab' feature from Chrome, AirPlay from Safari on macOS/iOS, or open the site directly on a smart TV browser.

Is my time data sent anywhere?+

No. The clock reads your local device time and never transmits it. See our privacy policy for details.

Does the neon dark theme save battery?+

On OLED screens, black pixels are switched off, so a dark clock screensaver draws noticeably less power than a light one.

Can I use the clock for streaming or presentations?+

Absolutely — use it as a starting-soon overlay in OBS, as a big countdown-style clock in classrooms, or as a decorative element on a meeting-room screen.
